FAQ's
What is a eulogy?
A eulogy is a tribute to a loved one who has passed away. It reflects on their personality, life, achievements, and the memories they leave behind. Traditionally it is spoken at a funeral, but many people now choose to record a filmed or audio version instead.
How does filming work?
We come to your chosen quiet space — usually a home or other comfortable location — and gently guide you through sharing your memories. There is no pressure, no rushing, and you can pause or take breaks whenever you need. A session generally takes a couple of hours.
Who can watch the film?
The film is yours to use for personal use however you wish. It can be played at the funeral or shared privately with family and friends.
We send you a private online link and the option to download and keep a copy. Your film will remain archived online for one year.
Is it hard to speak on camera?
It can feel daunting, but most people find it much easier than expected.
The key is practice — read your words aloud several times before the day of the shoot. On the day, we create a calm and supportive space so you can speak naturally and from the heart. We often use long lenses so the camera can sit further away from you, giving you some breathing room. You also don’t need to look into the camera — speaking off-camera often works best.
If you arrive on the day and decide you don’t want to be on camera at all, that’s absolutely fine — we can record audio only. Likewise, if we film you but you later decide you’d prefer to use only the audio, we can do that too.
How soon can I receive the finished film?
Typically, we deliver the edited film within one week. We will discuss your preferred timeline when booking.

Who is this service for ?
Everyone. We work with people who:
Don’t feel comfortable speaking publicly at the funeral
Cannot attend the funeral but wish to send a personal message
Are terminally ill and want to leave a lasting message for loved ones
Simply feel a recorded tribute would better express what they want to say
Yes — we’re happy to edit footage you record yourself. Modern smartphones can look excellent.
However, good audio is usually the challenge. Built-in phone microphones are often too far away to capture clean, clear sound.
We film on Canon cinema cameras in 4K and record audio separately using professional radio microphones. This setup allows us to capture high-quality, intimate footage and clear, reliable sound.
We require 24 hours’ notice to upgrade from audio-only to video. Video shoots can be changed to audio-only on the day, but will still be charged at the video rate unless changed at least 24 hours in advance.
Usually, it will just be one person.
If filming involves multiple people or a more complex setup, we may bring an additional crew member — this will always be confirmed in advance.
We use a discreet lapel microphone clipped to your clothing. The audio is transmitted wirelessly to the camera, allowing the camera to be positioned comfortably far away.
After filming, we create an initial edit using your footage and any provided images. You’ll then have time to give feedback or request changes before we complete the final version.
If you have specific ideas in mind, you can tell us before the shoot and we can help you plan them.
If you are providing photos or video clips, let us know which parts of your eulogy they relate to.
We have a selection of cleared music, however if you want a specific track and the film is being played publicly at a funeral, the music must come from the crematorium’s approved list so that royalties are properly cleared. We can help guide you through the available options.
Can you deliver the Eulogy to the crematorium ?
Yes. We work closely with crematorium AV teams and can upload the film in the correct format, ready to be played at the service.
What areas do you cover ?
We are based in Ramsgate, on the southeast Kent coast. We regularly cover Kent and London, and can travel further afield upon request.
The grief is just too much, where can I get help ?
Grief affects everyone differently and there is no “right” way to cope. If you need support, you can contact the National Bereavement Service for guidance and help:
